Rahsaan Lucas
Rahsaan Lucas is a NYC-born, Philadelphia-based arts & culture resource building bridges in the 21st Century via cross sector strategic partnerships. Through his multicultural marketing & entertainment solutions firm AfroTaino Productions, he has co-developed cross-cultural strategies for brands & corporations, executed comprehensive campaigns and special events and presented internationally-praised talent in Philadelphia’s best concert halls & venues.
Rahsaan fed his musical appetite and versatility by working nightclubs and record stores in downtown Philadelphia and serving as consultant to various music/multimedia production companies. He has designed soundscapes for professional & underground theatre, fashion shows, avant-garde art exhibits, futurist hair salons, celebrity gatherings and theme-oriented restaurants. As thrill-seeking world music DJ, he has musically navigated numerous entities like Bloomingdale’s, Activision, Verizon Wireless, & Red Bull to new, exciting demographics, developing their audiences beyond expectations. He continued to express his love of music in the form of journalism by serving as music editor of FILL Magazine, a Philadelphia-based online magazine that provided & promoted arts, culture, music, and social awareness for a progressive, positive-minded urban culture. His talent with African percussion took him on the road with Ballet Shango, performing in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Senegal and Gambia, West Africa.
